Mike Flewitt, the CEO of McLaren Automotive, has shepherded the British automaker to unprecedented growth in recent years, especially in the North American market. Flewitt was recently honored for his accomplishments with the 2019 Automotive News All-Star Award in the Exotic Brand segment.

The Automotive News All-Star Awards honor automotive industry executives from a variety of disciplines, recognizing their accomplishments over the past year. Automotive News reporters and editors have selected the top executives in the industry since the first All-Stars were named in 1981. Flewitt received the award at a ceremony in Detroit on December 2, 2019. In addition to the Automotive News All-Star Award, Flewitt was nominated by MotorTrend into its Top 20 Power List for 2019.

A big reason for the Automotive News All-Star Award for Mike Flewitt is the considerable growth of McLaren. The largest market for McLaren is North America, which now accounts for more than 40% of global volume. Recently McLaren passed the 7,000-vehicle milestone for North America and continues to set monthly records with sales up more than 17% year-on-year in 2019. To meet the demand of this high-level growth, McLaren is building a new high-tech, 30,000-ft facility in Texas.
