McLaren P1 GT by Lanzante

The McLaren P1 occupies a place among the most important supercars of the modern era. Conceived as the spiritual successor to the legendary McLaren F1, the P1 combined Formula 1-derived hybrid technology, groundbreaking aerodynamics, and astonishing performance to redefine the hypercar landscape. Produced in limited numbers and instantly collectible upon release, the P1 remains one of the most celebrated McLarens ever built.

For a select few owners, however, even the extraordinary P1 was only the starting point.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic McLaren F1 GT of 1997, Lanzante developed the P1 GT as the ultimate road-going evolution of the platform. Incorporating lessons learned through the development of the P1 GTR and P1 LM programs, the P1 GT featured extensively revised aerodynamics, bespoke carbon fiber bodywork, a dramatically reworked rear section, roof-mounted intake, enlarged front splitter, revised rear wing assembly, and numerous chassis and performance enhancements. Production was strictly limited to just four examples worldwide.

Offered here is the fourth and final P1 GT completed by Lanzante.

Acquired by Mouse Motors in late 2022, chassis 056 was commissioned directly to Lanzante for a comprehensive transformation and restoration program. Over the course of the build, the donor P1 was completely disassembled and reengineered into its final P1 GT specification, with the project culminating in late 2023.

Finished in Burgundy, this example presents as one of the most distinctive and significant modern McLarens in existence. Beyond its status as the final P1 GT produced, the car benefits from a unique powertrain specification developed during the build process. The original factory engine was removed and carefully retained, accompanying the vehicle today. In its place, a prototype McLaren V8 was subsequently rebuilt by Cosworth, increasing displacement to 4.0 liters and creating a specification unique to this car.

Today, the P1 GT stands among the rarest road-going McLarens ever produced. With just four examples completed, opportunities to acquire one are exceptionally limited. The chance to acquire the final example built, commissioned directly by Mouse Motors, equipped with its unique Cosworth-developed 4.0-liter engine while retaining its original factory powerplant, is likely a singular opportunity.

Showing just 990 miles from new, this extraordinary P1 GT represents the culmination of Lanzante's celebrated P1 program and one of the most exclusive modern hypercars ever offered for sale.

Our comments

Following Dean Lanzante's theme with building these to original F1 GT specs, Burgundy was the final color available. I will be honest in saying that if we had our choice, I'm not sure we would have selected this color but once seeing it in the flesh, I am thrilled that we ended up with burgundy! In my view, it is an instant classic and sets itself apart from all other P1 builds and is one of, if not the best spec to date!
