When it comes to exotic supercar brands, McLaren and Lamborghini are two of the top names. Obviously, we’re a little bit biased towards the latter, but we can admit that Lamborghini makes some great vehicles as well. We wanted to see just how well two of our most iconic vehicles on the market today measure up to one another, so we’ve put together a side-by-side comparison that should give us a better idea of how they fare.
2020 McLaren GT
2020 Lamborghini Huracan EVO
|612 HP||Horsepower||630 HP|
|465 lb-ft.||Torque||443 lb-ft.|
|203 mph||Top Speed||202 mph|
|3.1 s||0-60 mph||2.9 s (62 mph)|
As you can see with a simple glance through the table above, these two supercars are incredibly similar to one another, but each has its clear advantages. Let’s start at the top of the table, where unfortunately the Lamborghini takes an early lead. When it comes to power, the Huracan EVO packs a little bit more juice, generating an extra 18 horsepower. That’s not a huge difference, but it definitely gives the Lamborghini model a leg up out the gate.
Fortunately, the McLaren GT does fire back right away in the second row, where we highlight the fact that it can generate an extra 22 pound-feet of torque more than the Huracan EVO. Again, not a huge difference, but an advantage nonetheless. The third row keeps up the momentum for McLaren, as the GT hits a top speed 1 mph higher than the Lamborghini. Just another example of how similar these two vehicles are, as that’s the smallest difference yet, but once again, it’s still an advantage.
Finally, that brings us to another incredible close call, but one that the Lamborghini edges out: acceleration. Although the Lamborghini was test from 0-62 whereas the McLaren was test 0-60 mph, the 0.2 second difference is still pretty close to the actual difference, and it gives the Huracan EVO the edge in that regard.
If you can look past the horsepower and acceleration differences for more torque and higher top speed, then be sure to reach out to us right away here at McLaren Chicago!
