2020 McLaren GT vs 2020 Chevy Corvette C8

The new McLaren GT was first announced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show last year, before being fully unveiled in May a couple of months later. Representing the brand’s first dedicated grand tourer, the GT is an incredibly stylish and sporty exotic supercar that we’re quite proud to offer here at McLaren Chicago. One question that a lot of people have been asking lately, is how does it compare to the all-new, next-generation 2020 Chevy Corvette C8? We thought we’d dive into that very question by pitting the two sports cars against one another in a side-by-side comparison.

Advantages of the 2020 McLaren GT

It doesn’t take much more than a glance at the table up above to see that these two sports cars are quite similar to one another, but each has its clear advantages. The entire table focuses on power and performance, which are obviously the most important things to consider when shopping for supercars like these two. In the first row we highlighted horsepower, an aspect that shows off the biggest difference between the two vehicles. Our McLaren GT is capable of generating up to 612 horsepower, which is 122 HP more than the new Corvette can muster.

However, the second row shows that the Corvette does manage to generate the same amount of torque as the McLaren. In the second half of the table we turned instead towards performance numbers, with the third row highlighting the McLaren’s top speed being in excess of 200 miles per hour, and more specifically 8 mph more than the Corvette. Then the final row highlights 0-60 mph times, of which the Corvette manages to sneak by in just a tenth of a second.
